Garbage dumped on the Conservancy Lane of Thyagaraja Road 4th Cross, behind the MCC Office, needs to be cleared. Residents alleged that the Conservancy Lane has become a garbage dumping yard since a very long time and though the Office of the civic authorities concerned is close-by, the officials seem to have failed to notice the same. Hazardous smoke emanating from burning of garbage in the drain at Ramakrishnanagar ‘G’ Block, next to Vivekanandanagar Library is causing a lot of problems to the people living in the surrounding. Wastes from chicken meat shops and hotels are being dumped on the side of the Service Road near PKV Acharya Kalyana Mantap at Kanakadasanagar in Dattagalli. This waste is emanating unbearable stench forcing passersby to cover their nose besides polluting the environment. Residents said that the stench becomes unbearable especially during rains forcing them to close the windows for days till the stench subsides. The road right in front of Jodi Bevinamara Bus Stop at Kanakadasanagar in Dattagalli 3rd Stage is in a bad shape as a portion of the asphalt has come off and the road is strewn with gravel making it slippery for motorists, especially two-wheeler riders. Eye witnesses say that a few riders have fallen down and injured themselves, while passing on this stretch. Authorities concerned are urged to take steps to get the road asphalted at the earliest.
