Sir,
I would like to request the authorities concerned to stop widening the roads in Mysuru because they will be either occupied for parking more cars or by street vendors and food trucks to conduct their business and in the end only one lane is left effective for vehicular traffic!
The best example for this is the Nelson Mandela Road, especially the stretch from Highway Circle to LIC Circle in Bannimantap. Quite a few times, I have seen Police patrol cars stop here for tea and snacks, but, I am surprised there is nobody when people are doing wheelies, driving on wrong side etc.
I suggest installation of a median of very heavy concrete blocks (like the one on Sayyaji Rao Road) from Highway Circle junction to LIC junction with only two or three small gaps for pedestrians to cross over. They can be temporarily removed during Dasara period. All vehicles, including KSRTC buses should go around the roundabout on either end to get to the other side.
Also, please check the vans and autos stuffed with children and driving rashly.
Hope the authorities will take necessary preventive steps and not wait for some mishap to get going!
