Mysore/Mysuru: Nazarbad Police have arrested a youth for abusing a Traffic Head Constable during checking of vehicles and obstructing the Head Constable in performing his duty. The arrested youth is 22-year-old Vikas, son of Siddalingamurthy, a resident of Gandhinagar in city.
Yesterday afternoon, Siddarthanagar Traffic Police were conducting checking of vehicles near Mysuru Zoo, when Vikas came riding a Royal Enfield bike. He was stopped by Head Constable Lingaraju, who asked Vikas to show the vehicle documents.
Irked over this, Vikas questioned the Head Constable for stopping him when they allow traffic rules violators go freely and abused the Head Constable using foul language besides allegedly manhandling the Policeman on duty. Soon, other Police personnel arrived and informed the jurisdictional Nazarbad Police.
When the Nazarbad Police arrived at the spot, Vikas abused them following which the Nazarbad Police took him to the Police Station where he again shouted against Head Constable Lingaraju, which was caught on CCTV camera installed in the Police Station.
Nazarbad Inspector Mahadevaswamy, who registered a case against Vikas for indecent behaviour, abusing and obstructing a Govt. servant in performing his duty, has arrested Vikas.
