Sir,
When the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) recently repaired our road on South 3rd Cross, Anikethana Road and black-topped it, the residents were initially relieved. The road, after a prolonged wait of nearly ten years, had finally been redone.
However, our relief was short-lived. Just four days later, without any prior notice, MCC UGD workers came on the road armed with a JCB, fervently digging and swiftly reducing the newly asphalted road into fragments.
Upon questioning the workers about the reason for destroying a part of the freshly done road, they explained that the old UGD line had become outdated and needed replacement.
It appears to be a case of one branch of the MCC being unaware of the actions of another! There seems to be a complete lack of coordination in their efforts, resulting in waste of resources and considerable inconvenience for the residents.
The crucial question remains: Will the MCC restore the road to its original state after laying the new drainage line? Residents are forced to bear additional expenses, purchasing new pipe lengths and joints to connect to the new line from each home.
This lack of coordination within the MCC not only wastes tax-payers money but also creates problems for residents.
