Mysore/Mysuru: The 9th Convocation of St. Philomena’s College, Mysuru, was held at the College Indoor Stadium on Nov. 25.
A total of 640 candidates (434 Under-Graduates and 206 Post-Graduates), received their certificates and 47 gold medals and one Ph.D degree were awarded to the students.
Padma Vibhushan Dr. K. Kasturirangan, in his Convocation address delved into the intricacies of the National Education Policy 2020. He praised its consultative process and underscored its integrated and flexible design. He specifically commended St. Philomena’s for embracing the policy’s principles, offering diverse programmes and actively promoting Indian languages, arts, and culture. This acknowledgment emphasised the college’s commitment to providing a comprehensive and inclusive educational experience.
His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, the Apostolic Administrator of Diocese of Mysore, Rev. Monsignor Alfred John Mendonca, the Vicar General, Diocese of Mysore, University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor Prof. Lokanath, Rev. Dr. Bernard Prakash Barnis, the Rector of St. Philomena’s Educational Institutions, Principal Dr. Ravi J.D. Saldanha, other academic heads and dignitaries were present.
