Sir,
On being posted from Jabalpur to field in Eastern Command, I had decided to move family to Mysuru, for purpose of my son’s studies. The prevailing second wave of COVID-19 and varying lockdown status of intervening States of Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra and Karnataka coupled with the requirement of e-pass added to the perplexity of our move.
On getting vague inputs regarding e-pass requirements from different quarters, I finally got in touch with the Mysuru District COVID War Room Helpline.
The person who attended my call was from 13 Karnataka Bn NCC at Mysuru. He promptly took my contact number and got back to me in ten minutes, saying my movement order and a certificate mentioning details of family and my vehicle registration number should suffice.
Further, a reference of tele- conversation with this Helpline should dispel any doubts as to the movement.
On enquiring as to whom I am speaking to, he replied “Sir, I am Nabeel Ahmed N,
Senior Under Officer in 13 Karnataka Bn NCC. I am presently a second year Mechanical Engineering undergraduate.”
Saying so, he heartily welcomed me to Mysuru and followed it up with a welcoming SMS on my mobile phone.
I have reached Mysuru with family with no hindrances enroute. I am sure all people interacting with the COVID War Room at Mysuru would have benefited from the exemplary response from 13 Karnataka Bn NCC, as I have.
I wish Nabeel Ahmed all the best in all his pursuits and thank the staff of his NCC Bn for contributing in so many intangible ways towards nation-building in this pandemic.
