- Vacant site cleaning charges Re. 1 per sq.ft. for 20X30 plot; Rs. 2 for above 20X30 sites
Msyore/Mysuru: While collecting Property Tax from tomorrow, there won’t be any offline payment. While property owners can pay taxes online from the comforts of their homes, even if they come to the Main Office or Zonal Offices of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), there will be online payment only. There will not be any ledger entry like before and all data will be entered into a computer.
“We will not accept offline payment like before. Even the receipts for Property Tax payment will be issued online and property owners can take print out later,” MCC Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Nagaraj told Star of Mysore this morning.
Regarding cleaning charges for vacant sites across the city, he said that along with Health Cess, Beggary Cess, Library Cess and Solid Waste Management Cess, property owners have to pay cleaning charges if they own vacant sites.
Cleaning charges are levied per square feet and for a plot measuring 20X30, cleaning charge of Re.1 per square feet has to be paid. All the plots above 20X30 have to pay a cleaning charge of Rs. 2 per square feet.
That means, property owners of 20X30 plot have to pay Rs. 600. For a 30X40 plot, they have to pay Rs. 2,400. For 40X60 plot, Rs. 4,800 has to be paid as cleaning charges and for a 50X80 plot, Rs. 8,000 has to be paid as cleaning charges.
“We do not want unclean vacant sites. Unkempt plots not only mar the beauty of the area but also lead to waste dumping. It is also unsafe as snakes and other reptiles take shelter there. After levying cleaning charges, the MCC will clean that particular vacant site once in three to four months and it is our responsibility to maintain them,” Nagaraj added.

Hi,
I read Property tax article on your new paper on 3/31/2021 based on this I checked the Mysore city corporation web about my property tax. I was shocked it shows that I haven’t paid for the 2019-2020 (I have receipt for this payment) but even though I haven’t paid for 2020-2021 it shows that I paid for the year 2020 -2021. this is really a joke and apathy of the city corporation and now I am confused how can I pay the the tax.
Can SOM can bring this issue with commissioner of city corporation and get it fixed. Really it is very shameful for the people who said to the citizen that they wont accept the payment through the counter only online
Huh, the link does not work – as usual
Mysuru cannot go online.
We have to be in the line only saar
And when it did, there is no link on the website to pay the bill. I wrote twice in the dialog provided and received no response.
MCC in general and the commissioner in perticular are jokers from the circus. Before announcing on line payment web site, no one has bothered to check whether the web site is working or not. Make announcement, make it non working, harass citizen, force them to stand in long queue to claim 5% rebate. This is what is happening form the past few years. Have patience, the site will work from 1st May 2021 after the rebate is over. Thank you jokers.
How will anyone pay Property tax online when the SAS for is not fillable and second why not have both Kannada and English. How will people who do not know to read and write Kannada use online method to pay Property Tax.
Why not have a YouTube tutorial on the method to calculate the tax. BBMC (Bangalore) provides a prefilled and pre-calculated Amount to be paid as tax.
In 2013, The GOI had selected Mysore for a Pilot project to digitize (geospatial) every property and a PID issued to every property (UPOR – Urban Property Ownership Record) The signboard of this office is still displayed at the Taluk office in Mysore. A software was developed to standardize the Property Record throughout the country. The software was versitile with enough flexibility for different state governments to change tax paying parameters and Property Sale / Bifurcation / Merging / Transfer Registration and issuance of Katha and Title Deed. Crores of Rs. was spent on this project and for reasons unknown it was killed. Again Probably Crores of Rs was spent to design and develop an online Property Tax calculation and Payment system for every municipality, City Corporation in the state of Karnataka
Like a few of the people above who mentioned IT DOES NOT WORK, THE BIG QUESTION IS does anything in the State of ours work? Does this government ever do anything that works. Even to decide what action to take to curb COVID our CM has to take permission of the Central Government.
What is the need of a state Govt if we need the Center to tell the leader of this state what to do and what not to do? God only help us.
MCC did ” April Fool” to any one who opens the web link.
Waiting for online payment of property tax from years and at last there is a chance and tried. Not able to complete payment. Site not working.
