Srirangapatna:  A crocodile, which was sighted at RBLL Canal of KRS reservoir near Belagola in the taluk, has created panic among the villagers.

The croc was sighted by a few women, who were washing clothes at the canal. This is the second crocodile, which is being sighted in the canal in a week, causing fear among the villagers.

As soon as the news of the croc being sighted in the canal spread, womenfolk have stopped going to the canal and the men to agricultural fields.

Meanwhile, the villagers expressed anger over the inaction of Forest Officials despite lodging complaint.

Forest Official Shivu said that they searched the canal and even cast the nets to trap the crocodile but did not find anything and added that they would continue to search for the crocs and catch them at the earliest.
