Mysuru: A Mysurean, who is serving as a soldier in the Indian Army, has been injured during a battle with terrorists at Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir on Apr. 26.
The injured soldier has been identified as 28-year-old B. Ramesh, son of late Basavarajegowda and a resident of Bhadregowdanakoppal, Yelwal hobli in the taluk, who is deployed at Panchagau in Kupwara district.
It is reported that Ramesh, along with his fellow soldiers, was patrolling in Panchagau, when terrorists fired on them killing two soldiers.
Meanwhile, the soldiers also retaliated and began to fire during which Ramesh was injured in the crossfire and was admitted to the Military Hospital in Srinagar and the Army Officials had informed the family members of Ramesh about the incident on Apr. 26 over the phone.
But after that, there has been no further information about the condition of Ramesh till date, which has created tension among the family members and the villagers.
Former Taluk Panchayat Member Govindaswamy, speaking to SOM, has urged the District Administration to get in touch with the Army Officials and inform the family members of Ramesh about his condition and has also urged to make arrangements to take the family members of Ramesh to the hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, it is leant that Assistant Commissioner C.L. Ananda is in constant touch with the Army officials and the condition of soldier Ramesh would be known later.
