Food and Civil Supplies Minister U.T. Khader has said that Universities should impart human values in students.
He was speaking at ‘Kuvempu Jayantotsava’ programme organised by Vishwamanava Mysuru Vishwavidyanilaya Naukarana Vedike at Maharaja College Centenary Hall here yesterday.
Pointing out that humanity is very much important in one’s life, Khader opined that one should always think about humanity as this will greatly help in overcoming challenges in life.
Regretting the growing tendency among people to believe WhatsApp messages rather than that told by an individual, Khader expressed concern that such a tendency will lead to the collapse of human relationships.
DCP Dr. H.T. Shekar, District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, journalist Amshi Prasannakumar, University of Mysore faculty Prof. Hemant Kumar, UoM Deputy Registrar (General) M.V. Vishakanta, staff Harish Babu, Syndicate Members Narayan Prasad and Arun Kumar were felicitated on the occasion.
MLA G.T. Devegowda, City JD(S) President K. Harish Gowda, University Evening College Principal Prof. Chandramma, Corporator Jagadish, Congress leader Rafiq, Naukarara Vedike’s R. Vasudev, Gandhi Bhavan Director Prof. S. Shivarajappa and others were present.
Speaking to press persons ahead of the programme, Khader said that the BJP was making false charges in respect of the diary found in Congress MLC K. Govindaraj’s residence.
Dismissing allegations of payments made to the Congress High Command which was reportedly noted down in Govindaraju’s diary, Khader said that former CM B.S. Yeddyurappa and other BJP leaders are issuing false statements in this regard.
Accusing the BJP of indulging in corruption when in power, Khader said that the people will give a fitting reply to BJP leaders in the next election.
