Organisations donate medical equipment and grocery kits to tide over COVID crisis

In a bid to help the District Administration, which is making all efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Karnataka Pradesh Balija Sangha has donated Oxygen Concentrator and other medical equipment to the District Administration recently.

Along with the Oxygen Concentrator, the office-bearers of the Sangha also donated 1,000 Vitamin-C tablets, 1,000 face masks and 250 bottles of sanitisers, which were handed over Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bagadi Gautham.

Association Secretary C.K. Jagadish said that similar medical equipment has been donated at Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Ballari and Mandya too.

Additional DC Dr. B.S. Manjunathaswamy, leaders H.R. Gopalakrishna, Prof. Ranganath, Somashekar, D.K. Suresh, H.V. Nagaraj, Hemakumar and others were present.

Members of Azeez Sait Block Congress distributed grocery kits to poor people at Gandhinagar in city recently. The kits were distributed to about 170 poor families by Azeez Sait Block Congress Vice-President Sharath. Sharath’s parents Sampath and Padma, brother Sumanth and others were present.

On the occasion of the Founder’s Day of Sri Krishnarajendra Bank, grocery kits were distributed to the bank employees and Group ‘D’ employees in city recently. Prior to the distribution, floral tributes were offered to the bust of Shettappa Siddappa, the Founder of the Bank. Bank President Tayur Vittalamurthy, Vice-President D. Basavaraju, Directors N. Siddappa, H.V. Bhaskar, M.S. Arun, B. Nagaraj, Shankaranarayan Shastry, D. Parthasarathy and H.N. Sarvamangala, In-charge D. Ananthaveerappa and others were present.

In a bid to help employees of cinema halls, who are without jobs as the theatres have closed down following COVID-induced lockdown in city, Darshan Abhimani Balaga distributed grocery kits to the employees of Padma Theatre at Agrahara recently. Former Corporator M.D. Parthasarathy, MUDA Member M.N. Naveen Kumar, KR Co-op. Bank Vice-President Basavaraj Basappa, Kadakola Jagadish, Harish Naidu and others were present.

The office-bearers of Mysuru District Pandal Owners Association distributed grocery kits and face masks to those working in crematoriums in city. On Saturday, the Association members first distributed the kits and masks to the workers of the crematorium at the foot of Chamundi Hill. Association President Shivakumar said that it was decided in the meeting to distribute at least 50 grocery kits to crematorium workers and added that the Association had provided breakfast to Pourakarmikas besides feeding birds and animals at Chamundi Hill.
