Contemporary society is witnessing like never before snapping of harmonious relationships among the citizens. Before dwelling on this delicate-yet-delightful subject, one is prompted to remind fellow-citizens about their unabated onslaught on every elements of nature, including sand mass from river tracks, an act that has relegated the relationship between humans and nature to a point of no return.
Unarguably, it is this culture of grossly ignoring the harmony factor in relationships that has rendered bonds into brittleness bugging the society. Centuries of nurturing that all-embracing bond, hypothetically tracing to the times of the land’s epics, that has sustained life of all living forms until not too long ago, has been fractured in a shockingly short span of time that pages of history have failed to accommodate.
The cementing of bond, particularly as applied to human species and more so between the mother and her new-born infant highlights the role played by the factor of expectations out of such a bond. All said and done, the mother’s toil through the stages of child-bearing subsequently cannot hide her dream of the child growing into a robust adult and continue the undefined future progeny.
The bond marked by that aforementioned simple-looking and justifiable expectation that a mother cannot but help entertaining in her daily routine, moves on to acquire width and depth resulting in complexity that is grist for poets, essayists, novelists and also psychologists creating script that makes fascinating read. The birds and beasts, speechless as they are, have left issues of bonding uncomplicated, unlike the humans. In this context, one cannot be faulted for remarking that the tragedy is not that human bonds have crashed but it is that the bonds could have been taken to dizzy sublime heights.
The reports being published by dailies nowadays don’t portray the contemporary society in good light. The breaking of bond incidents in case of couples, both just-married and married-for-years, triggered by laughable causes seems to be a non-issue, in spite of the horrendous consequences of nurturing and safeguarding human bondage.
