Two-wheeler rider killed as tipper runs over

Nanjangud: A two- wheeler rider was killed on the spot when a tipper vehicle ran over him near Kasuvinahalli village in the taluk yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Abdul Salam (55), a resident of Hallare village. Abdul, after completing the work at the agricultural field, was proceeding on his bike for lunch when a tipper ran over him.

Meanwhile, the family members of deceased Abdul and villagers, who expressed their anger on the Police, said that jelly stones-laden tippers and trucks, move at reckless speed in front of the village every day. “Despite lodging complaints in this regard several times at Nanjangud Rural Police Station, no action has been taken,” villagers complained.

Najangud Rural Police, who have registered a case, have seized the tipper vehicle.
