Will ‘SOM’ continue to be naughty?

February 22, 2017

Sir,

Hearty congratulations to Team ‘Star of Mysore’ on turning 40 on 16th February 2017.  While wishing all the best, there is a saying that ‘at 40 you tend to become naughty.’ Will SOM follow this and change its outlook and content for the next generation  ‘keeping up with the Joannesses?’

– Vasanthkumar Mysoremath, Social Activist & Environmentalist, Mysuru

NOTE: ‘Star of Mysore’ was born with a naughty smile giving slip to those who expected an inaugural function. And it continues to grow that way, cocking a snook at the prudes, moralists and the conservative. Which is why that maverick teacher-intellectual-author Dr. U.R. Ananthamurthy (URA) called its Editor ‘Thunta Sampadaka,’ naughty editor, during SOM’s silver jubilee public function. Well, after all, life is too short to be always sombre and serious. —KBG
